One of the dreams connected with Beyond One World has been the idea of having a dashboard available to everyone showing in real time the current status of the world(s). Being able to drill down into it to actually see where you can make a difference. The ability for the idea to work though would require organisation and processing power way beyond what is available today but its significance would be to show the real status of the world as a whole and enable people to think globally – even universally – about what was going on.
I was inspired to come back and write up this post though by something tweeted by Tony Robbins – something that approaches the idea and gives anyone looking some imagination of what the dashboard may do. The tweet pointed to http://www.peterrussell.com/Odds/WorldClock.php a page put up by Peter Russell ‘Spirit of Now’. The page contains a Flash applet that was created at http://www.poodwaddle.com and looking around I saw a few interesting ones that might give inspiration as to what the dashboard might feel like. I have collected them here…
Well I have been away for a little while and although the blog has been well protected by Akismet I see the forums have been inundated with spam posts!!! The whole model of Google’s search system feels ridiculous when I think why these people are doing it – I guess I don’t blame them exactly, they are trying to find ‘black hat’ ways to promote their sites but hitting on sites such as this to achieve their aims. It feels sometimes that the whole Internet will sink in spam, duplication and nonsense reviews for every product or service that has any value.
Anyway I’ll be back to clean up soon. If anyone has any suggestions on how to prevent spam on their forums without restricting anonymous messages I’ll be pleased to know. The only thing I can think of at the moment is to confuscate all of the urls and make them ‘nofollow’. In any case I will be cleaning them up and kicking them out.
It is at moments like this I really do with the Zeitgeist guys take hold – the one advantage I guess of a resource based economy would be the end of this incessant noise on the net called spam…
Even trying to stay away from BeyondOneWorld for a while I still stumble upon conspiracy after conspiracy. With all the videos and information around about it and after recently watching a whole raft of them you really really begin to get numb to it all. I guess that in itself could be considered part of the conspiracy, a reason why we can still see these videos if they really existed and why an elite would allow us to question anything to do with any order. Or maybe I am just thinking too much… or not enough… or… well, let’s get on with it.
This video by John Nadal appeared about a year ago and covers many of the concerns of the current age with a beginning starting with probably the biggest metaphor in the Matrix – Do you take the Red Pill or the Blue One?
Well I watched it and it did raise quite a few more questions than I was aware of – and I suppose that’s not a bad thing – I am obviously still weary of many others that I have seen. I do find it annoying that the pressures of ‘getting on with the important things’ today get in the way and I can never find the time to check out each fact for myself. I even made it through the whole two and a half hours as I toiled on with other things and I actually loved the ending.
Not because it finally finished! – but because this time there were no sales made to a solution, no site to visit to get your truth fix, no certain answers were given at all just a convincing message and a really great wildlife clip at the end. Well done John.
Well, Do I take the red pill or the blue one?
A taste of the red pill has left me a little sick I confess and leaves me in a world without obvious facts or truth. The blue one would allow me to just get on with life and forget about all this but I do love the truth- even if it does hurt!
So again I know that I will keep coming back to this until it is found. For myself, I have no idea if any of the video is the truth! But I certainly wish I did!
I know enough now to realise that certainly something is wrong with the world and the way we are ignorant to, intolerant or mistreat each other, but then again I see wonderful things that people do and believe again that there is something worth fighting for.
I just wish I knew how to fix what is going wrong. To say the answer is somewhere in the message of this site would be a little ambitious of me, because if it is actually here, then I really have no idea of how to make it a reality! I actually need everybody to tell me – that in itself is a ridiculous dilemma. Anyway, on with the film,
So – I wish I could take on the role of Morpheus and attempt to save the world, offer a solid choice. However I am just an ordinary person, with an ordinary life, no real skills except for possibly ideas, some techie stuff and recently surprisingly some writing.
So all I can think of right now is:
if you feel like there is some, if any, truth to what these videos are trying to tell us, or you feel like me, there is something wrong with the way we run the world,
if you think that everybody may be able to stand together as true partners in the world and decide equally amongst us all how we should do things for good.
Then (I am not sure why this makes me a little embarassed but I’ll try it anyway) join me, let me know what you think, you can post here, join me as a friend on Facebook (let me know that you are coming in from here though) or just follow on Twitter at BeyondOneWorld if you just want to be a spectator for now. Or, I hate to say, ignore it completely and make some unfair judgement upon my sanity and move on – but then again you read this far didn’t you? – OK, the blue pill it is then…
Let’s see if we can put together what our ideals are, start from there, see if we can get others to do the same, taking an equal share in it.
Let’s see what we can work out – by joining in you take an equal share in the result – we may be able to bring in those who really can help make a difference and together finally find a solution and build up the framework that we all can agree on.
I know I have some well formed – maybe even misguided you may think – opinions on here already on how things could be, so feel free to read and offer your own perspective. I do realise it is the opinion of just one though and it may or may not be the right way, what we are looking for is the opinion of all.
Though I do believe just one thing in all my time on this, I think it IS possible to get full agreement on things, by everyone, if we start off with thinking about our highest ideals.
We are so much more alike than different… really…
Well my self imposed absence from this idea also meant I missed out on the voting for the Google Project 10 to the 100. I resolved to myself that this idea wouldn’t make it into the final 100 because I knew that unless I could somehow bring some coherency to it then nobody would really be motivated to get involved. I was really impressed to see all the great ideas that were posted up onto YouTube also – a lot of people really put an immense amount of effort to try to bring these ideas into the light. Funnily the last time I looked at any comments written on my video presented I got ‘Wierd Wacko’!!! – Huh Thanks – Mildly embarrassed by this I decided I wouldn’t go forward with presenting the idea any more but work on it on my own, in my own time. My own personal weakness came into play I must admit and I almost resolved to bin the lot and hope everyone would forget about my strange ideas and the struggle to work them out. I was really only pulled back when I saw that the voting for Project 10 to the 100 had been completed!!! This stirred it all up again and I had to look to see what happened. However, what happened to my notification? Never mind, maybe I lost it in the post…
I am somewhat confused with what Google has done though – they seem to have take the best of the ideas and taken it all for themselves. Is this really what has happened?
I know it promised good Karma if nothing else to the 150,000 who worked on their best for changing the world for a better place, so maybe that is all they get, no more mention by Google, into the archives of history go all the ideas, if indeed they are accessible, most I know are now OWNED by the company.
I feel Google has made a serious mistake here, my own humble opinion it may be, but I feel strongly that this is exactly what will underpin their downfall.
They are a company – If you have read anything on here you will know my sentiment on that kind of identity – and they will protect their assets, for their own profits, whether public or private. It is this thinking, especially after reading through all the terms and conditions that made me pull BeyondOneWorld away from using any of Google’s Apps and pulling it into one place out of the way and try to maintain everything myself – hard work!.
The Internet is allowing a real paradigm shift in the way that people interact with the world around them, the company has no future in this shift and Google especially will weaken to the social networks developing apart from them.
Ignore the individual and you lose – the individual and their connections with each other and what they want are the most powerful kinetic driving forces of the Internet.
The rise of Twitter and Facebook allowing for these shared networks I feel will overtake the importance of just information delivery and will be the next step in evolution. Both these companies have scaled well, especially Facebook, with its ability to share applications among millions of users through an interface and a lot more progress will be seen here.
But the main block is still there – it is owned ‘by the few ‘and used by the many.
They hold all the information and media produced by individuals who only wish to share to each other as friends and neighbours. How can this be OWNED!!!
I did set up ADS0.com as a way of figuring out how to make the social network completely owned by the individuals that use it but there is so much work to do to get that under way that again, it has taken second place to the more immediate priorities of life. Also straight away there were attempts by quite a few to use it as a means of gaining Pagerank so I had to block (most of) them.
Somehow though, we do need to work this out. We need to share completely in the responsibility of how things will work. It needs to be totally transparent and everyone must have an equal voice in it. In essence the theme behind BeyondOneWorld – or whatever anyone wants to call it. It cannot be through some technocracy controlled by a limited set of our understanding of the world, but driven by the best of everything that we now, putting in place our most ideal aspirations as a means of directing our effort.
This whole process rises up through all our personal interactions with each other and becomes a whole means of government. I don’t want to use the word democracy any more as it still requires a center of power, all the power must be completely flattened and allow every person in the world decide on exactly what, how and why things should be done. I favour the term Omnicracy – and I should put together an article to describe the meaning – because every individual has an equal amount of power to make any change. The only way these changes can be agreed on will be through some kind of social network, allowing people to discuss, agree or disagree, collaborate or even play at any time they wish, for their own individual reasons.
The problem is … and always was … what to do next …
In essence, I feel that Project 10 to the 100 has failed the people who dedicated their time and their best ideas and the spotlight will be now on the entity Google to make the world a better place – on their own.
I have taken a little break from Beyond One World but it will not be for long. I realised after a year of writing here that actually not many people are visiting and when they do they probably have no idea of what it is about. It’s a shame, it’s no fun and I really should think about making the whole thing interesting. I mean I find it interesting, it’s become my passion, my obsession almost, because I absolutely believe that it is the right idea. But if I cannot find others with that same passion then this site is useless. So I need to stop being rubbish at marketing it and learn how to do it properly.
So I have entered the world of Internet marketing and I am actually thoroughly enjoying it. I always knew about it in theory but my experiences of years ago doing this are not really as good as putting it into practice. Let’s see how it goes…
So I have separated my personal Twitter account from BeyondOneWorld and created one exclusively for this at http://twitter.com/BeyondOneWorld. Follow this if you are interested in the progress here and do not want to hear my own ramblings at http://twitter.com/shawndm. Or perhaps vice versa. You are welcome at either.
